2025 Ford Mustang® Engine Specs: Horsepower & Torque

Unless you choose one of two Ford Mustang® Dark Horse™ variants, your chosen Mustang® will be driven by a 2.3L EcoBoost® engine or a powerful 5.0L V8. The more powerful modified 5.0L Coyote™ V8 is exclusive to the Ford Mustang® Dark Horse™. The unmodified V8 is available in all GT models however, and with only 20 hp differentiating the modified and unmodified V8s (torque is identical), GT models don’t suffer too much of a step down from the capabilities of the Dark Horse. 

Adding to the raw power and musical rumble that one can achieve with a V8 is the fact that these V8 engines can be paired with a true 6-speed manual transmission. Yes, the 10-speed automatic transmission paired with the 2.3L EcoBoost engine does come with paddle shifters, but this is no substitute for the true, old-school experience of driving stick. So, if you’re looking for a manual Chester driving experience, keep that in mind!
